Sierra Leone: The call for tough arms control: Voices from Sierra Leone

The purpose of this report, published jointly by Amnesty International, the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA), and Oxfam International, is to add to the discussions on disarmament at the United Nations the voices of some of the people who bear the cost of the world’s continuing failure to control the arms trade. Case studies tell the stories of just a few of the people who suffered appallingly because guns found their way into the hands of rebel armed groups and uncontrolled members of government forces that had already been committing violations of international humanitarian law for years.
