Canada: Unequal Rights: Ongoing concerns about Discrimination against Women in Canada

In this submission to the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women on the occasion of the Review of the Sixth and Seventh Periodic Reports of Canada, Amnesty International highlights a series of recommendations which the organization is of the view would address a number of critical women’s human rights concerns in Canada. This brief highlights three barriers to effective protection of women’s human rights and also draws attention to serious human rights violations experienced by three particular groups of women.
