Human rights defender José Manuel Gómez received an email death threat from an army-backed paramilitary group on 11 September 2007. He is a human rights activist with the national Colombian human rights NGO Comité Permanente por los Derechos Humanos (CPDH), Permanent Human Rights Committee.
