This report describes the case of "high value" detainee, Mohamedou Ould Slahi, who has been held in Guantánamo since August 2002, and whose own torture or ill-treatment in US custody appears to have been influenced by what at least one of the 14 detainees held in secret CIA custody, Yemeni national Ramzi bin-al Shibh, allegedly said while interrogated in prolonged incommunicado detention under the "alternative" methods which President Bush has defended.
