The Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula: Human rights fall victim to the "War on Terror"

This document reports on the effect of the "war on terror" on nationals and residents of the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula. Human rights abuses include mass arbitrary arrest, incommunicado detention and prolonged detention without charge or trial, torture and ill-treatment, strict secrecy surrounding the fate and whereabouts of many people and apparent extra-judicial execution. The report covers those held in Guantanamo Bay as well as thousands of detainees in the Gulf and focuses particularly on the effects on the detainees families.
