In this document, Amnesty International urges the Syrian authorities to establish impartial investigations into incidents detailed in the document, and to propose remedies to prevent their recurrence. Such incidents include the escalation of tension at a football match into widespread riots; the use of lethal force by the security forces; reports of torture and ill-treatment of detainees; deaths of Kurds, allegedly as a result of torture and ill-treatment in custody; deaths in suspicious circumstances of Kurdish military conscripts; and systemic discrimination against Kurds.
