We're very pleased to announce that Roger Waters is supporting Amnesty International’s campaigning on the Middle East and North Africa on his forthcoming ‘The Wall Live’ tour.

As a long standing supporter, Roger Waters is backing Amnesty’s campaigning on the region and volunteers will be on hand at the concerts to give out campaigning literature and discuss the issues.

Roger Waters said:

“It’s very important to me to have Amnesty along on this tour talking about the dramatic events in the Middle East and North Africa. 

“In some small way, I want to ensure that people who come to The Wall Live take away a sense that human rights matter and barriers between people and their rights need to be torn down.”

The Wall concert is one of music’s great events and it’s fantastic that Roger is supporting Amnesty on this amazing tour.  The imagery at the concerts is incredible and it resonates on so many levels with Amnesty’s work.

The show is set to tour to Australia and New Zealand (starting in Perth on 27 January), continuing in Chile, Argentina and Brazil (ending 3 April) (details at: http://tour.rogerwaters.com).

Repression and state violence is likely to continue to plague the Middle East and North Africa in 2012 unless governments in the region and international powers wake up to the scale of the changes being demanded of them.
