UN: Atrocities fuelled by inaction on Arms Trade Treaty promises

Millions of people around the world will continue to suffer the deadly consequences of the poorly regulated global trade in weapons until many more governments take rapid steps to bring the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) into force, Amnesty International warned a year after the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted the treaty.

Le Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies est exhorté à renforcer l’embargo sur les armes en Somalie

La décision du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies d’assouplir l’embargo international sur les armes à destination de la Somalie l’an dernier semble avoir contribué à une augmentation de l’insécurité et du nombre de violations des droits humains, qui se solde par des centaines de morts civiles chaque mois, a déclaré Amnesty International en demandant le rétablissement d’un embargo strict.
