NIGER Ibrahim Manzo Diallo (m), journalist

Newspaper editor Ibrahim Manzo Diallo was provisionally released on 6 February, by the appeal court in eastern town of Zinder. He had been detained for more than four months without trial for alleged links with Tuareg rebels.

"I sincerely and from the bottom of my heart thank Amnesty International who mobilized during my detention. Thanks to international mobilization… they ended up releasing me. A big thank you to AI members. My family also thanks them."

Je dois surtout remercier Amnistie internationale sincèrement du fond du cœur qui s’est mobilisé pendant ma détention. C’est la pression internationale… ils ont fini par me libérer. Un grand merci aux membres d’AI. Toute ma famille leur dit aussi merci.
