Kenya: Crackdown on "terrorism" violating human rights



Amnesty International will present a report spelling out how recent "anti-terrorism" operations in Kenya have resulted in serious human rights violations at a press conference in Nairobi on 23 March.


The report, Kenya: The impact of "anti-terrorism" operations on human rights, will identify the main human rights violations committed in the context of the investigations of attacks on civilians, including incommunicado detention, detention without charge, torture and ill-treatment and harassment of family members.


When: Wednesday 23 March 2005, 10 am local time (07:00 GMT)
