Japan/Thailand: PRESS CONFERENCE INVITATION



Amnesty International will launch its latest report "Japan:Still waiting after 60 years: Justice for Survivors of Japan's Military Sexual Slavery System"at a press conference in Bangkok this Friday.


The organization will outline the brutal treatment suffered by "comfort women" -- the majority of whom were under the age of 20, with some as young as 12 -- and the excuses given over the years to deny responsibility for their suffering. It will also provide recommendations to the Japanese government and the international community for finally ensuring justice for the remaining survivors.
