It was reported on 28 March 1992 that President Wee Kim Wee has granted clemency to Sim Ah Cheoh. She was sentenced to death on 29 July 1988 with two others for trying to smuggle 1.37 kg of heroin. This is only the fourth time in 30 years that such a reprieve has been granted by a head of state in Singapore. The last occasion was in 1982.

No further action is required. Thank you to all those who sent appeals on her behalf.
