Turkey: Bomb attacks condemned
Amnesty International condemns in the strongest terms the 27 July bombings in Gungoren, a residential neighbourhood in western Istanbul. At least 17 people died and more than 150 were injured in yesterday's bomb attacks on a busy shopping street.
The deliberate killing of civilians can never be justified, and targeting people going about their daily lives shows complete contempt for the most fundamental principles of international law.
Those responsible must be brought to justice in proceedings which meet international standards.
