Amnesty International has just received the good news that Mehmet Sevik has been released.

Furthermore the organization has been informed that Mehmet Arif Sevik is now in the military prison in Diyarbakır. Apparently, he is being held because of some irregularity with his leave (from military service), which presumably he overstayed in order to find his father.

No further action on their behalf is required. Many thanks to all those who sent appeals.
