Amnesty International launches briefing on war-era sexual violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina
On 29 March, Amnesty International will use a press conference in Sarajevo to release a briefing exposing the failure of successive governments in Bosnia and Herzegovina to ensure thousands of women and girls raped during the 1992-1995 war justice, truth and reparation. Amnesty International’s briefing, Old Crimes, Same Suffering: No justice for survivors of wartime rape in north-east Bosnia and Herzegovina, focuses on the current situation of the women survivors of wartime rape living in Tuzla Canton. It illustrates the problems survivors face in accessing their rights at the local level. To receive an advance copy of the briefing and for more information please contact: Lydia Aroyo, Press Officer for Europe and Central Asia at Amnesty International on (+44) (0)20 7413 5599 or +44 (0) 7771 796 350; e-mail: laroyo@amnesty.org.
