Amnesty International presence at Cairo International Book Fair 22-28 January
Amnesty International is participating in the Cairo International Book Fair for the first time to promote its work to the public in Egypt and in the region. The international human rights organization will have a stand at the event featuring some of its recent publications on human rights in Egypt, the Middle East and North Africa and beyond as well as promotional items. Representatives of the organization will be present to explain the activities of Amnesty International and will invite people to sign petitions on key human rights issues in the Middle East and North Africa and around the world. It will also be possible for people attending the fair to join the global organization, which has more than 3 million members and supporters. “After a momentous year for Egypt, when human rights have been at the centre of the dramatic changes in the country, this fair is an ideal opportunity for Amnesty International to present its work to the Egyptian public and seek their participation in our activities to promote human rights around the world,” said Philip Luther, Amnesty International's interim Middle East and North Africa Director. When: Amnesty International will have a stand at the book fair from 22 January, when the fair opens, until 28 January. Contact:
