Delivering a just future for all: Why human rights matter to sustainable development: Policy briefing post-2015 framework

There is widespread international agreement that human rights are central to effective economic and social development for all, ensuring that nobody and no country is left behind. Key lessons from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) highlight the dangers of neglecting human rights. The MDGs expire in 2015 and are due to be replaced by a new framework. This policy brief demonstrates that human rights are key to sustainable development. It proposes a realistic and measurable set of targets and indicators in order to ensure that human rights are embedded in the post-2015 framework.
