In this document Amnesty International addresses the Security Council on the countries of the Mano River Union. The main focus is primarily on Liberia as the situation has deteriorated significantly due to intensive fighting between Liberian government forces and forces from Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy. This may threaten the stability of the sub-region, and could undermine the major achievements of the local population and the UN in Sierra Leone.
