Angola: Briefing for the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: 41st Session, 3-21 November 2008

This submission covers Amnesty International’s concerns about the right not to be forcibly evicted, which forms part of the right to adequate housing as a component of the right to an adequate standard of living. Since 2001, the organization has monitored and documented numerous cases of forced evictions in Angola, which the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) recognized as a prima facie violation of the provisions of the ICESCR.
