Guinea-Bissau: Amnesty International's concerns following the coup in April

Several weeks after a military coup that deposed the civilian government in Guinea-Bissau, Amnesty International remains concerned at the continued attacks on human rights and the suppression of freedoms including freedom of expression and the press, assembly and movement. In this report Amnesty International urges the military and civilian authorities to restore and guarantee fundamental freedoms without delay and to end the persecution of all the deposed government officials and those who peacefully call for the restoration of the rule of law.
