This document contains a selection of testimonies given to Amnesty International by survivors of rape and sexual assault committed in Côte d’Ivoire against the background of the political and military crisis that the country is experiencing since the 19 September 2002 coup attempt. They are presented as part of Amnesty International’s campaign to obtain comprehensive medical care, justice, and social and economic support for rape survivors in Côte d’Ivoire.
