In this document, Amnesty International supports the demands of women's NGOs to the government to take full responsibility for stopping violence against women violence in the family. The Government, at the federal and state level, fails to prevent, investigate and punish such violence. Several NGOs throughout the country work on violence against women in the family and operate without the support of the Government.
