Rwanda: Medical concern: deaths in detention

The dead are: Evariste Kamugunga, a businessman, Paul Gakuba, businessman, Zefrin Kagiraneza, teacher, Venant Gakwaya, businessman, and Gaspard Rwabukumba, a scientific researcher. They were all held in Butare Prison and were arrested in October 1990, after the incursion into Rwanda of armed exiles, mostly Tutsis based in Uganda. Three of the dead were of Tutsi origin.
