Sudan: Protect the people of Darfur - UN peacekeepers now!

In this document Amnesty International calls on the UN Security Council to protect civilians now by sending UN peacekeepers to Darfur to take over from the African Union mission without delay. Despite a peace agreement in May 2006, the people of Darfur remain at risk of being killed or driven from their homes by marauding Janjawid militia.
