On 12 July, Juma Omar El-Nur was reportedly taken by security force personnel from Khartoum hospital to an unknown location in Khartoum, where he is again being held incommunicado. He had only regained consciousness on 7 July after spending a week in a coma. He was reportedly still in a critical condition when he left hospital and Amnesty International fears that his health may deteriorate further if he does not receive adequate medical care.
