Salah Mohamed Abdelrahman was reportedly released from the political section of Kober prison in Khartoum some time between 22 July and 5 August. He had been detained without charge since 9 July 2002. He was held incommunicado for much of the time and was only allowed a visit from a relative for the first time in January 2003.
