At least 100 people from the Kivu region of the DRC are currently held without charge in detention centres, suspected of plotting to overthrow the government of the DRC. This report provides some background to these arrests and gives examples of those known to be held in incommunicado detention. Amnesty is concerned that many of these detainees may receive unfair trials and be sentenced to death by military courts.
