This report outlines Amnesty International’s concerns about numerous reports of human rights violations in Belize including alleged excessive use of force, torture and ill-treatment by police; the existence under Belizean law of the death sentence; and prison conditions which reportedly fall short of the UN Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners.
