Following inquiries to police authorities in the state of Para, Osorio Barbosa de Barros has been located in the town of Curionopolis. He has confirmed that he was detained by police from 8 to 12 September, and that during that time he was beaten and tortured. There was apparently never any arrest warrant for him and police officials have confirmed that he was questioned as a witness in a case under investigation and not as a suspect.
