Indigenous peoples in Canada experience much greater levels of poverty than the rest of the population. In this Demand Dignity campaign digest Amnesty International urges the Canadian government to work with Indigenous Peoples to implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, including provisions on free, prior and informed consent, as part of the framework for achieving a just and timely resolution of outstanding land disputes and preventing further erosion of Indigenous Peoples' land and resource rights.
