Dominican Republic: Letter concerning the appointment of the Ombudsman

In this letter, human rights organizations express their concern at the lack of political will in drawing up a shortlist of candidates for the post of Ombudsman and submitting this to the Senate. Eleven years have passed since approval of the law establishing the concept of Ombudsman, and the organizations are writing to the President of the above institution, to request his support in establishing the post of Ombudsman as soon as possible.
