Paraguay: Submission to the United Nations Human Rights Committee for the 107th Session of the Human Rights Committee (11-28 March 2013)

This document highlights a number of ongoing human rights concerns in Paraguay such as the lack of adequate legislation to prevent and punish all forms of discrimination. There are no effective measures to address the discrimination suffered by Indigenous Peoples and violations to their right to traditional land. Other concerns include the remaining criminalization of abortion for women and girls who become pregnant as a result of a rape and the ongoing failure of the state to investigate allegations of human rights abuses committed by the police.
