Paraguay: Briefing to the Pre-sessional Working Group of the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, 53rd session May 2014

In this submission, Amnesty International provides information on the enforceability of economic, social and cultural rights in Paraguay and on the effectiveness of the State’s legislation in protecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples. This briefing also covers the enforceability of sexual and reproductive rights. The briefing is not an exhaustive review of the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Paraguay; it instead highlights specific concerns regarding cases and thematic issues.
