This case sheet is about David Hicks and Mamdouh Habib who are the only two Australian nationals detained at Guantánamo Bay. Amnesty International is particularly concerned over the nature of the arrest, detention, transferral and allegations of torture of Mamdouh Habib. The organisation is also concerned with the allegations of abuse and mistreatment of David Hicks who was one of the first Guantánamo detainees to be charged, and has been assigned a lawyer by the US military.
