USA/Yemen/Jordan: Secret detention and torture: Case sheet 2: Salah Nasser Salim ‘Ali

Salah Nasser Salim ‘Ali, a 27-year-old Yemeni, was arrested in August 2003 while shopping in Indonesia. He says he was flown to Jordan where he was held for four days and tortured. He was interrogated but never told why he had been arrested. In May 2005, without explanation, Salah Nasser Salim ‘Ali was released from secret detention and flown to Yemen, where he remains in prison, still without charge. Yemeni officials say he is being detained at the request of US authorities. This document urges that he be released or charged with a recognizable offence and given a fair trial.
