In this submission, Amnesty International provides information as stipulated in the General Guidelines for the Preparation of Information under the Universal Periodic Review. Amnesty International raises concerns, inter alia, about administrative detention laws; restrictions on press freedom; the status of ratification and implementation of international human rights treaties; and legislation discriminating against lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The organization also describes concerns over violations of human rights by the state through the prosecution of individuals under the Sedition Act.
