Using this petition, signatories can express their concern about Chen Guangcheng who was sentenced to over four years in prison in December 2006 and over reports that he was severely beaten by other prisoners in June 2007. Signatories consider the conviction of Chen Guangcheng to be an attempt to prevent him from carrying out his peaceful and legitimate human rights activities and request his immediate and unconditional release.
