Wang Jianping is serving a ten-year sentence, imposed in two unfair trials, for passing information to Australia in the early 1980s. He escaped illegally from China in 1986 and is now an Australian citizen. He was arrested on a business trip to China and discussions continue about his nationality and the validity of his detention.
