China: Equality for Uighurs: petition

In this petition, to be sent to the Chairman of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the signatories express their concern that Chinese government policies in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region are eroding the Uighur ethnic identity and fuelling discontent and ethnic tensions. The petition calls for the introduction and integration in domestic laws of a clear definition and prohibition of discrimination on all grounds referred to in the UN Convention against Racism.
