Amnesty International has received confirmation that torture victim Manzoor Ahmed Ganai, a young farmer from Wakoora village, died on 15 February 1993 in the Bone and Joint Hospital Srinagar. Both his legs had to be amputated after developing gangrene as a result of prolonged torture during interrogation by the army’s Bihar regiment.
