This document consists of a compilation of press reports from the Indian press, intended to give a summary of press reaction to AI’s major report on India published on 25 March 1992. A short introductory section gives an overview of press reaction to the report. This is followed by a compilation of editorials and press articles, subdivided as follows: editorial comment; general press; press comments critical of AI’s report and AI’s response thereto; press reporting on the proposed Human Rights Commission and the invitation to AI to visit New Delhi.
