In this open letter Amnesty International and the Indonesian Federation of Women’s Legal Aid Society express their concerns about the Health Law passed in September 2009 (Law No36/2009), some of the provisions of which violate, among others, women’s rights to the highest attainable standard of sexual and reproductive health; their rights to decide freely and responsibly on the number and spacing of their children; and to have access to the information, education and means to enable them to exercise this right.
