Indonesia: Fear of torture/ill-treatment: Irwan Adriyansah

Irwan Adriyansah, a young opposition activist from Jalan Pahlawan, Bandung, West Java, was arrested on 26 February 1997 by men in plain clothes, believed to be from the security forces. Several opposition pamphlets, including one from the People’s Democratic Party (PRD) and the magazine Suara Independen, Independent Voice, were confiscated from his home at the time of his arrest. There are fears that he may be tortured or ill-treated while held incommunicado.
