In this open letter The Judicial System Monitoring Programme (JSMP), KontraS (the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence), and Amnesty International write to urge the Security Council to take immediate and effective steps to address the continuing impunity for crimes against humanity and gross human rights violations which occurred in Timor-Leste (then East Timor) under Indonesian occupation (1975-1999). This is a crucial time for such action as the mandate of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Timor-Leste is due to expire on 26 February 2012. THIS DOCUMENT IS ALSO AVAILABLE IN TETUM.
