Austria: The alleged ill-treatment of Maryam Movasedi-Borojerdi

There is concern at allegations that an Austrian citizen Maryam Movahedi-Borojerdi and her Rwandan husband Robert Philipe were subjected to cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment by police officers following their arrest on 8 March 1998. A formal complaint has been made to the Ombudsman's Office (Volksanwaltschaft), but there is also concern at the length of time being taken to investigate these allegations.
