Ireland: Submission to the United Nations Human Rights Committee: 111th session of the Human Rights Committee (7-25th July 2014)

In this briefing Amnesty International highlights a number of human rights concerns in Ireland. These include: the criminalization of abortion in all cases except where there is a real and substantial risk to the life of the pregnant woman or girl; the failure to provide truth, justice and reparation to victims of human rights violations in the Magdalene Laundries; use of the territory for renditions; and the lack of a procedure to ensure legal gender recognition of transgender people.
