Italy: Double standards: Italy’s housing policies discriminate against Roma

In Italy’s capital, Rome, people in need of housing are treated differently according to their ethnicity. This report exposes how the municipality of Rome has consistently designed and implemented housing policies that discriminate against Roma and violate their right to adequate housing. They are not the only municipality in Italy to be doing this. The report also addresses the failure of the national government to ensure equal access to adequate housing for all across the country, in breach of international human rights law and EU anti-discrimination legislation.
