Russian Federation: Human rights memorandum to President Medvedev

In this memorandum Amnesty International presents its key concerns relating to human rights in the Russian Federation. There have been positive developments over the past several years and the moratorium on the death penalty has been maintained. Nevertheless, overall a number of serious patterns of violations persist and in some cases have worsened in recent years. Amnesty International has highlighted these issues in recent reports, and provided recommendations for action by the authorities.
