Sevak Yedigaryan, Vagarsh Ovanyan and Zaven Sargsyan were all sentenced to death in different trials during 1990; two had been convicted of rape and murder and one of murder. They are currently in prison in Yerevan, awaiting the outcome of their petitions for clemency. AI is appealing to the Armenian authorities to commute their sentences.
