Bosnia and Herzegovina: Impunity for past human rights violations: Amnesty International submission to the UN Universal Periodic Review, October-November 2014

In this submission, Amnesty International sets out its concerns in relation to human rights violations committed during the 1992-1995 war in BiH. Regrettably none of the recommendations made previously have been implemented. Moreover, the legislation criminalizing war crimes of sexual violence is not in line with international standards, which may lead to impunity for perpetrators. Amnesty International is concerned with the failure by the authorities to bolster capacity for investigation and prosecution as well as support services to victims, and to provide full reparation to survivors of war crimes of sexual violence.
